Feed the meter by phone

Parking a car in New York City isn’t exactly an easy task, but if you happen to find a parking space NYC is making it a little easier for you to pay for it. According to the New York Post, New York City drivers can soon look forward to feeding the meter by phone. The mobile payment technology, which has already been introduced in cities like Washington, DC and Atlanta, essentially allows drivers to pay for their parking spots without ever having to interact with those menacing, metallic meters.
Unlike most mobile payments services, it solves the following real problems:
1)      After registering online, users would be able to pay for curbside real estate by entering the number of the nearest meter and the amount of time they'd like to purchase into a customized app, or by texting it to the city's Department of Transportation.
2)      The app keeps track of the time remaining. When a meter is about to expire, it alerts the user.
3)      It truly takes advantage of mobile. Instead of having to stop our conversation, walk to the meter, put in some coins, and walk back.
The New York Post reports around 300 spots will see the new meters during a one-year pilot program. New York transportation officials are hoping technology will result in some savings to the city, the Post says.

Retail Store Marketing and Printing Techniques

Retail Store Marketing and Printing Techniques
When it comes to retail stores, few things are as effective as print marketing. This is especially true for local retailers with a regionally limited customer base.
Here are some tips:
Mail campaign
A direct-mail campaign is the fastest way to get a targeted audience into your store.
Direct-mail printings should incorporate great design, copy, a great offer and a compelling call to action. Identify with your customers and tell them how visiting your store will make life easier.
Door hangers
With door hangers, you don’t have to worry about mailing fees. It’s a one-on-one approach with the customer rather than being lumped in with the rest of the mail.
Signage
Invest in a large vinyl banner or large-format posters and you can begin upselling your customers before they even walk into the store. Are there accessories and other add-ons that go great with your offer? Tell them out in the parking lot. They’ll be thinking about it as they walk through the store.
Stickers
Once your customers are inside the store, wouldn’t it be great if you could showcase these accessories to each and every one of them? Place stickers on the floor that lead to the product offer they came for, but not before they pass by every clearly marked accessory that goes along with it.
Point-of-sale racks
It might be checkout time, but that doesn’t mean they didn’t miss something. What small, inexpensive tidbits can you put in the checkout aisle that clearly relate to the product they’re purchasing? Put it on a rack at the registers.

M-Commerce is the new E-Commerce

Statistics show that 77 percent of the world’s population owns a mobile device. In 2009 more than half a billion people accessed mobile internet, and usage is predicted to double within five years. If you’ve ever missed a great sale at a clothing store you love because you just can’t find time to get to the brick and mortar store, you understand how incredibly useful and convenient mobile shopping can be. Stores are eagerly re-designing their mobile sites and apps to become more immersive and visual, while offering customers who want it a social experience as well.
In these circumstances it is naturally that mobile commerce industry is growing fast right now. Mobile commerce, or m-commerce, is the buying and selling of services and goods using a mobile device. M-commerce is considered the next generation of e-commerce and this particular technology will allow users to shop through the Internet without a plug-in terminal.

Happy Processing!!!

We are here for you

National Merchant Services is here for your business.
Many businesses, have wondered how to draw more customers in. The simple answer is to accept credit payments from customers. Yes, it seems like a small thing, but it opens up a world of possibility and an entirely new customer base. Simply put, credit card processing is one of the reasons people choose or choose not to shop in a store. The current generations of shoppers have grown up with the internet and with credit cards. They use them on a daily basis and believe they are safer than carrying cash around. Most shoppers in the 18-40 ages demographic believe in using plastic for everyday purchases. That means that businesses that do not accept credit cards are at a disadvantage from the start. National merchant Services has offered this service for a while.

As if that was not enough, there are a host of great benefits that merchants get if they choose to partake in credit card processing through NMS. The merchant services available range from payroll solutions, to POS integration to merchant cash advances and a whole host of other merchant processing services. Each of these services offers great benefits to any small business.

Overall, using merchant processing services is a no-brainer. It is important for small businesses to access the plethora of services available to merchants who accept credit cards. More than anything, it is important for a merchant to service their customers and the customers believe that credit cards are the way to pay for goods and services. Picking NMS is also a no-brainer especially since their service packs are constantly expanding.
