Never Stop Improving Your Business

So you opened a business and got some customers. Now you’re stuck in the same routine. Make your business better! Rule #1: NEVER STOP IMPROVING. If you’re not moving forward you’re moving backward. Here are some steps to help you propel your auto shop to the next level.
1.      Make data-driven business decisions. The information provided by actual data will result in more profit with less waste than opinions expressed by others, no matter how qualified the opinion may be.
2.      It’s time to start investing your marketing dollars in paid-search advertising, social media and email because you get more for your money. If you’re not making more than you’re spending, scrap that marketing plan and try something new.
3.      Put your customer’s needs first! Talk less about your business and start addressing the needs of your customers. Once you start helping your customers, they will start to appreciate and respect your business.
4.      Use online survey websites to find out about your customers’ needs and wants. Use Google’s free website analytical tools to see who’s coming to your website. It will pay off big in the long run.
5.      Your existing customer base is a gold mine of sales opportunities. Word of mouth is the best FREE advertising. Treat your customers well and they will pass on the recommendations.
6.      Increase your prices. Don’t get scared...Increase your pricing across the board by two percent. If your business operations and customer service are great, customers will have no problem paying for an oil change that costs $20.40 as opposed to one that costs $20.
7.      Have a plan! Write down all those great thoughts you have on paper and discuss them with your business partners. Having a detailed marketing plan will get you where you need to be faster and at the smaller cost.
